3D/4D HD Live Plus Pregnancy Scan

3D/4D HD live Plus Ultrasound Scan

The 3D/4D HD live plus scan is primarily designed to perform well-being and growth observational checks on your baby. This scan routinely helps better bonding between your unborn baby and you by showing her/his face, hands, feet …
The Private ultrasound Scan’s 3d,4D HD live plus scans can be conducted between 16- and 34-weeks’ gestation (usually after your NHS anomaly scan). This scan focuses on well-being observations of your unborn baby combined with 3D/4D HD Live imaging.
During the scan your fully qualified obstetric Sonographer will observe the heartbeat, movement, placental site, amniotic fluid
volume, and position of the baby, all of which will be documented in the form of an assessment report, providing valuable information to share with your midwife.
Your scan will be conducted using an abdominal ultrasound probe (external on the abdomen), and it is important to recognize that the imagery obtained is derived from the reflection of sound waves passing through your abdomen creating the visual image.
The level of diagnostic evaluation and visibility achievable can differ greatly between clients, especially in cases of a high BMI which can result in poor image resolution.

Please Note: The primary purpose of this scan is to achieve an essential diagnostic evaluation of your unborn baby, during which we will use advanced 3D/4D HD live plus imaging software to provide views of the baby from an alternative perspective.

On top of this, we will perform a Doppler scan. It measures the blood flow in different parts of your baby’s body, such as the umbilical cord, brain, and heart.
This helps to show whether the baby is getting all the oxygen and nutrients required via the placenta.
Doppler is also very valuable in assessing the potential risk of preeclampsia.
Your baby’s position can sometimes make it difficult to achieve clear 3D/4D/5D imagery. If this is the case, our sonographer may recommend that you take a short walk to encourage movement; if this does not have the intended effect, we will be happy to offer you a complimentary re-scan later.
If in the sonographer’s professional opinion further scanning is unlikely to achieve the desired 4D imagery, you will be offered the
opportunity to downgrade the scan to the Wellbeing & Growth Scan, Including, Doppler Scan and Presentation (24-40 weeks) and you will get the price difference fee.
4D scan is basically a kind of ultrasound imaging, and baby can be seen moving in real-time – like in a movie or video – as a result of adding the dimension of time to the common 3D ultrasound scan.

  • Baby’s well-being check
  • If requested, complimentary baby sexing

It is recommended to perform a 3D/4D scan between 24 to 32 weeks of pregnancy. The further along you get in your pregnancy the harder it may be to see the baby's face. For twins, 22-25 weeks is the ideal time to see the little ones. Seeing the baby's face is more difficult if the baby has arms or legs in front of it.

Many expecting parents use this optional appointment as an opportunity to bond further to their child, or to introduce their family members to their little one. We can capture your baby's motion, such as yawning and stretching, or take pictures of their tongue sticking out.

3D/4D scans are not commonly necessary for medical diagnosis. However, a 3D/4D scan could provide valuable information, in case your child has a facial condition such as cleft palate or cleft lip.

3D/4D ultrasound scans are always safe for both the mother and the baby. They are performed by accredited sonographers using high-quality, advanced ultrasound equipment.

As the abdomen needs to be exposed, you should wear a two-piece outfit, e.g. top and skirt or trousers. A full bladder is not typically needed for this scan.
