What is included in the Women’s Complete Ultrasound Check-up?+
The package combines bilateral breast and axilla ultrasound, pelvic ultrasound, and thyroid and neck ultrasound in one coordinated appointment, with a written ultrasound report and explanation of the findings.
How much is the Women’s Complete Ultrasound Check-up?+
The current package is listed at £595. Check the dedicated booking page for the latest price and availability before confirming.
Do I need a GP referral?+
No GP referral is generally required for direct private booking. Bring any previous ultrasound, mammography, MRI, blood-test or specialist reports that may help comparison.
What does the breast and axilla ultrasound assess?+
It assesses both breasts and the axillary regions for visible cysts, solid lesions, inflammatory change and other ultrasound-detectable abnormalities. Ultrasound does not replace age- and risk-appropriate mammography or specialist breast assessment when these are indicated.
What does the pelvic ultrasound assess?+
Pelvic ultrasound assesses the uterus, endometrium, ovaries, adnexal regions, bladder and visible surrounding pelvic structures. A transvaginal scan may be offered when clinically appropriate and only with informed consent.
What does the thyroid and neck ultrasound assess?+
It assesses the thyroid gland for enlargement, nodules, cystic change and structural abnormalities, together with relevant neck lymph nodes and surrounding soft tissues. Ultrasound assesses structure rather than thyroid hormone function.
How should I prepare for the package?+
For the pelvic component you will usually need a comfortably full bladder for the transabdominal scan. Breast and thyroid ultrasound need no special preparation. Follow the specific instructions in your booking confirmation.
Can this package rule out cancer?+
No. Ultrasound can identify many abnormalities and features that need further assessment, but it cannot rule out all breast, ovarian, uterine, thyroid or other cancers. Mammography, MRI, blood tests, biopsy or specialist review may be recommended when appropriate.
Can I have the pelvic scan during my period?+
Yes, pelvic ultrasound can usually be performed during menstruation. The best cycle timing depends on the clinical question, so tell the practitioner the first day of your last menstrual period and the reason for the scan.
When will I receive my results?+
The practitioner can usually explain the main ultrasound observations at the appointment, with a formal written report and images provided according to the clinic’s reporting process.
