What is included in a PrivateSono private health check?+
PrivateSono currently offers four health-check tiers. All tiers include multi-organ ultrasound assessment, vascular ultrasound, blood testing and a private GP review, with additional breast/axilla and heart-health testing in the higher tiers.
How much does a private health check cost?+
The current PrivateSono health-check tiers are Essential £995, Standard £1,295, Plus £1,495 and Premium £1,795. Check the booking calendar for the latest price and package details before confirming.
What ultrasound scans are included?+
The core packages assess the thyroid and neck, abdominal organs including liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas and kidneys, urinary system, reproductive organs, abdominal aorta and carotid arteries. The Plus and Premium tiers also include breast and axilla ultrasound.
Are men and women assessed differently?+
Yes. The reproductive-organ component is tailored to sex: current package descriptions include prostate and testes for men, and uterus and ovaries for women.
Does the Premium package include a heart assessment?+
Yes. The current Premium package includes a heart health check with echocardiography, ECG and consultation, in addition to the broader ultrasound, blood-test and GP components.
Do I need a GP referral?+
No GP referral is generally required for direct private booking. Bring any previous imaging, blood-test results, medication lists and specialist reports that may help interpretation.
How should I prepare?+
Because the package includes abdominal and urinary/pelvic ultrasound, you may be asked to fast for several hours and arrive with a comfortably full bladder. Follow the specific preparation instructions in your booking confirmation.
Can a health check rule out cancer or heart disease?+
No. Screening can identify risk factors and visible abnormalities, but it cannot rule out every cancer, coronary artery disease or other condition. Further mammography, CT, MRI, endoscopy, biopsy, stress testing or specialist review may be advised depending on findings and symptoms.
When are results available?+
PrivateSono states that health checks include detailed reporting and clinical review. Ultrasound findings may be discussed at the visit, while blood-test timing varies by panel; the GP review is used to bring the results together and advise next steps.
Which package should I choose?+
Essential is the entry-level comprehensive option. Standard adds a broader evaluation, Plus adds breast and axilla ultrasound with comprehensive blood testing, and Premium adds the heart health check. Choose based on age, symptoms, family history and screening goals.
